70% of people go online first to find local business information

Mashable wrote up a good article last November about the The State of Small Business Online Marketing Budgets

What is really appalling is not necessarily the low amount of adoption of technology by local businesses (in the case of blogs), but by the fact that only 54% of small businesses even have a website!

This is insane folks. Especially when you see numbers like this…

Over 70% of people go online first to find local business information.

Speaking of blogs, only 13% of businesses have them and use them.

Blogs are the #1 way you can communicate with your potential customers, clients, suppliers, vendors, etc. on a regular basis.

And anything can be linked to your blog. You can setup your blog to automatically post to your twitter or facebook accounts. You can setup your blog to send emails through RSS feeds such as Feedburner. You can have people sign up for your email newsletter and send your blog updates through that.

The #1 fastest, easiest, most cost-effective way to get new customers now is to build a website if you don’t have one, get your business listed (or claim your business) through the many business listing sites, and get a blog started. These three things will help you get new customers so fast you won’t believe it till you see.

Thoughts? Questions/Comments? Intelligent Remarks? :-)
